Last time there was any talk about how to (or how not to) review MMOs was around the whole Eurogamer vs Aventurine debacle (often called "Zitrongate" after the reviewer). This was obviously a deep and traumatic event for some people, especially Darkfall fans that still can't stop taking cheap shots at Eurogamer (despite them doing a re-review of the game). I’ve been spending a lot of time together with Modern Warfare 2 lately, and here’s our video review – a bit late, due to members of the crew getting sick.
A rather long rant about the infamous airport level was cut out, we will be getting back to that later in a separate show. For now, I’ll just let the review and the guns do the talking.

Very good review. I think you made a wise decision to cut the rant. There is more than this to rant about this game. You already mentioned the very scripted and linear gameplay. This must not necessarily be bad, but it makes sure I will touch it only once.
Multiplayer is for sure really cool.
What is not cool is the dedicated server thing and everything related to it, plus my general feeling about what Tesh once so fittingly called “violence porn”.
I feel like just about every shooter these days is more multi-player oriented than single-player.
Oh, and any review with two cute red heads is a must see in my book
@Longasc – violence porn it is, from start to finish. If you’re not a fan of that, stay away. But yes, I agree, I think it was a good idea to skip the rant.
@Dickie – it’s just a good marketing idea. The first MW kept selling, mostly based on multiplayer (and that it was seen as a good game, of course). And thank you, I will be sure to tell Thomas.
